Community Movie Night a Success at St. John's, Morgan!

St. John's, a rural congregation nestled between Pulaski and Oconto Falls, recently hosted a successful community movie night, bringing together approximately 80 people of all ages. This initiative aimed to welcome the community back to St. John's, reviving a spirit of togetherness reminiscent of their community meals offered a decade ago.

Despite extreme heat, attendees enjoyed a "Christmas in July" theme featuring "The Grinch" (2018). The event included an intermission for mingling and a fun touch of bubbles for the kids. While most attendees were connected to church members, the event successfully encouraged extended family and friends to participate.

The event was made possible by a grant from Doing A New Thing (DaNT) that covered a portion of the cost for Fun Flicks–Wisconsin's services and a movie license from CVLI, with an additional donor covering the remaining amount. Popcorn was generously donated.

St. John's learned the importance of trying new things, even in a rural setting, and saw a positive turnout. They plan to host an indoor movie this winter and continue summer movie nights next year, aiming for increased attendance by establishing a regular schedule, such as every third Sunday. Two church members have already offered to financially support future movie nights.
