Imagine a room filled with discovery and adventure. Imagine a place to not only hear about new ministries taking place, but experiencing them too! This year at Synod Assembly the Resource Center was able to have an interactive display of “Discovery Zones”. We provided ways for you to “experience” first hand what it means to “lay your burdens at the cross” . . . “what happens when you look at life through the Cross” . . . “take part in the knitting of a Prayer Shawl” . . . “experiencing God and stories in a ’Desert Box’ and so much more!!! With the help of congregations who are doing exciting ministry we were able to not only help you to hear about ministry, but to “experience” it too! Visitors were able to walk away with literature on how to begin a similar ministry, but also experience how that ministry works through interactive displays. Not all congregational ministries that happen can be made to be interactive, but all were creative in discovering new ways to display their gifts. The display was open to all people and we hope they enjoyed the time spent discovering new ideas by browsing through our display area. There were definitely some Bees Buzzing around and a Giant Hive to explore too! Now you too can celebrate the ministry taking place in our synod by browsing through the pictures below, and explore the possibilities of making your ministries blossom all the while discovering “What’s the Buzz?” Living in God’s Amazing Grace. Thanks be to God!”
The Convention Hall was filled with Flowers and Bees. The Resource Center report talked about the importance of partnering in Ministry. We lifted up various Ministries of the synod and stressed that is takes all of us together to effectively share the gospel with our congregations.
The worship area of the Assembly Hall was beautifully decorated with Banners borrowed from Augsburg Fortress
Beautiful Vases filled with multi-colored colors representing every congregation in the East Central Synod of Wisconsin lined the Assembly Hall.
“What’s the Buzz? The Place to BEE” was the name of the Resource Center Display area. The only resources we brought were to give away to congregations. Our main purpose was to lift up exciting ministry taking place in the congregations around the synod.
The Resource Center Display area had a huge Bee Hive built out of PCP pipes and large Bubble Wrap. A special thank you to Alan Babcock who engineered and constructed this wonderful Hive. <[Previous] [Next]> |
